Academic Economics is a nine week course in which we study the operation of the American economic system. This course is not only intended to fulfill a portion of the student's 12th grade social studies graduation requirement but also to helps them gain an understanding of the terminology and concepts related to the field of economics. Course topics include basic economic principles, supply and demand, forms of business organization, investment, the business cycle, and the federal government’s role in our economy.

Success in this course is based on the students diligently completing their work, doing what is asked of them and working hard. By doing those things, the students will not only be successful, but also gain an understanding of a subject that many find difficult to grasp. Whether they like it or not, they part of the American economic system, and due to that it is important that they have an understanding of it.
